A house for everyone!

So I bought a house.

It was a week of mayhem. 2 days with 3 hour house tours. In total the Mr. and I visited 22 different homes. We were also prepared to buy one house and it turned out to be a major dud. The next day we found a different house and we went for it.

Turns out to be super awesome, and if we had purchased the first house we liked we would have never even seen it. Everything happens for a reason.

I will be much more diligent when inspecting basements the next time I am purchasing a house.

We are so excited to move in. I have moved almost every year of my life since I turned 18. There were a few years that doubled up so it's not quite 10 moves in 10 years but it's pretty darn close. There is so much to design and plan to build. I get to create my own garden area and plan which trees I'm going to plant. I have to organize a front yard and finish a basement. We have to get window coverings and build custom bookshelves on the main floor.

So much to do and I can stay for a long LONG time. The best part is the most superb master bedroom and the upstairs laundry. Can't go wrong there.

Here's to debt for the next 25 years..... sigh.

No weekend for YOU!

Going to work on a saturday. Not the best idea I've ever had.

I used to work all saturday's when I was a delivery driver for a downtown catering company. I had school during the week and saturday was the only day to make a buck.

Now I gleefully enjoy not having to work on saturdays, unless that work is trying to make sure my socks are matched.

I also work at cooking on saturdays. I have yet to try out all of the new cooking stuff I got for christmas. There's a lot of things I need to get trying. I also need to see what I can make out of all of the leftovers in my freezer. It's like a food bomb went off in there. Too many parties and not enough being home makes for a full freezer.

Also I still have a tonne of cookies. Anyone want some??

I finished more knitting projects. Surprised? Maybe I'll keep a tally for this year. It's more then last year already.

Now I'm going to go find out how to keep track of a tally on one of the sides of my blog.

Oh Husbeast where are you??? I need the Technologies!!!

Sunday Slack Day

It's the last day of my christmas vacation. It's 4:30pm and I'm still in my pyjamas.

I am trying to think tired thoughts. I know that alarm at 545 is going to be killer tomorrow morning.

The green shawl of the never ending ball of wool will be finished today!!! *maybe*
Every time I say that something happens and I don't get to keep knitting on it. This time I'm 100% certain that I'm on the very last repeat of that stupid thing. I've even prevented saying it's the last repeat to myself in my head. I've gone 5 more than I anticipated so as you can see the yardage I need for one repeat has been greatly exaggerated in every way in my own psyche.

Here's hoping I don't need coffee and tylenol to get through my day tomorrow.

Sigh.

I'd better go get an oil change.

New Year Resolution

I resolve to blog more this year.... on a schedule!!!

That is my newest resolve for this new 2012 year. I would like to have accomplished this much just in case the world ends in december.

I had a very busy fall. Lots to do in school and lots to do at home. The drive was a killer for me from september to november. I'm used to it again but it's still a drag.

I've been knitting like a demon since school has been out. I finished a secret scarf for my sister in law. I also knit a hunter orange neck warmer, 2 other stripy scarves, and a baby jacket. I'm hoping to finish my shawl of the never ending ball of merino this week. It's looking good that I will. I keep saying that the ball is decreasing, and I can truthfully say that I can see the end. I might get one more repeat out of the thing and then bye bye shawl!! It'll be off to the blocking mat for you!

Next I'm finishing a sweater I started this summer around my birthday. Tomorrow is the day I get to go and buy my first purchase of a sweater's worth of yarn. I've decided to pick a sweater out of one of my magazines. There are a lot of really nice ones in this issue of Interweave Knits. I just have to change the colour because it's an icky turquoise. I could probably pull it off but I'd rather have a nice dark blue or a dark green.

My new goals is to blog more so I'm going to start small and try to blog twice a week. Once on monday and once on a weekend day. If successful I might blog even more. I do know myself and I am sure that twice a week will be challenge enough.

Looking forward to the new year and hoping that I'm not such a slacker this year.
