Soooo things have happened since last we met.
Most notably was that my old computer bit the dust. It was fried, much to my dismay, a week before christmas holidays started. I don't like using the Hubby's computer so I haven't really blogged since the accident.
I had a great last day of school. I want to go back this year. Don't get me wrong, I love my holidays, but my kids are super awesome. I have a fully stocked freezer of meat and some other awesome goodies.
Holidays were super awesome. Stop number one on my christmas tour was My parents house. My grandma was visiting for the holidays so that was extra special. I got my new present which I'm typing on at this very moment. A new macbook pro. Aluminum case and 13" of screeny goodness. I got the Mr. a new coat and some gloves and PJ pants. Got to see my sibling and his girl friend and have a really nice visit with Grandma. I saw her a couple of times in that following week. The parents opted to make us a special gourmet dinner in lieu of the usual fondue dinner. I quite liked it, but it was much more work than I was used to and I will be happy to go back to fondue next year. (hint hint mother)
We then went to the Mr's Grandparents to see his aunt, cousins and grandparents. That was a wonderful food filled evening. Got some pretty awesome gifts from both sides and I got to hang out with some cool younger cousins of mine. I can't wait to take Girl Kidlet off to the mall for some shopping to blow the mind of a grade 4 student. Pink pants here we come!!
Friday was the monstrosity that is the Galloway christmas. The hubby's step mom's family is huge. And they have lots of friends as well. We all get together on christmas eve (mostly) and have a turkey dinner and dessert time. Every family gets a bag of gifts so each family makes a treat. We got our own bag this year, which was very unexpected as I didn't even write up any christmas cards. Whoops. I'm already early planning what everyone is getting for next christmas. Summer is going to be a busy season!
We went home to pack for Winnipeg after that and at 430 the next morning (christmas no less) we were off to the airport. Got to the Mr's mom's by 1100 and were having wifesaver and cinnamon buns before we knew it. I got a Raclette maker (SO AWESOME) and some knitting doo dads (MOST AWESOME!) and Mr. RTD got a new ipod touch. Then we got the big announcement. During the summer the MIL told us that we were all going on a trip somewhere. We got a little package and inside was a wee piece of paper telling us we're going to Vegas next July. I'm super stoked. The Mr. and I had just been discussing going there for spring break and now we can take a short trip somewhere else instead.
We were there for 4 days and just got back home. I'm trying to find spots in the house for all my stuff and we still have a christmas to go.
I'm feeling very special this season and hope that everyone else is having a super time with their families.

I am NOT crazy
I know things.
I know that it was very abnormal for our hot water tank to be running out of water after 2 showers. I know that it is also abnormal for you to run out of hot water after one load of laundry.
I have been vindicated.
Mr.RTD has said that there was "no problem" and "just turn down the cold". That strategy works until you run out of cold water tap to turn off. I froze too many times and took as few showers as possible since it got cold. Sorry if was a little smelly there.
I told the management company that I was running out of water. It took a couple of weeks for them to come by but when they did, boy was there a surprise. They even came in to show the Brother in law. Some pipe inside the tank was completely broken. SO broken that the maintenance man brought the broken parts in to say "Hey it was really broken". I knew that!! I am le Smartie.
Results of the changed pipe include being able to have a shower 3rd and still have enough hot water to have to turn ON the cold water. I even had enough hot water to shave the legs. That makes me less of a yeti. The hubby didn't notice. I am not going to try anymore. :P
YAH to fixing things around the house. I am hopeful for warmer floors. Someone moved in downstairs today. WHOOT.
